Protecting your content

There are multiple levels of security and deterrents in place to limit the ability of users to copy content and/or use log in details simultaneously.

ClickLMS takes the protection of your content and reputation very seriously. To protect you, we have the following security features in place:

  1. Web/Search robots and crawlers do not index any of the content across the ClickLMS site, so no text or media content would appear in any Google, Yahoo! or Bing (or any other) search results.
  2. Content is only accessible if the Learner has purchased/enrolled in the content, has an active account and is securely logged in with a valid session.
  3. Learners cannot right click on any hosted multimedia content to download using 'Save target as'.
  4. Access to a resource is only through a time-limited embedded URL in the platform, and the Learner must have a valid access token and the link is only valid for defined period of time - i.e. if they somehow got the link to the resource and shared it, it would not play for anybody else if they were not logged in the platform within this short period of time.
  5. Importantly, the patented active learning tracker requires user interaction (mouse movement, keyboard movement) periodically to keep the content active i.e. you cannot just press play, start recording and the video would play to the end - the user must be present and interact with the platform.
  6. Learners cannot access learning content from more than one location/device simultaneously - our system would detect duplicate log in sessions and close the older sessions automatically.
  7. You can activate the 'IP Location Tracking' feature which will record the IP address and geographic location each time a learner accesses learning content on your site.
  8. If you suspect/detect any violation of content sharing/log in sharing you have full control from the Admin dashboard to instantly revoke access to that user profile - just toggle their account from green to red and they cannot get access to the platform. You can also withdraw access to individual courses as an additional step.
  9. Learners cannot edit their own name or email address from the ClickLMS platform - i.e. they couldn't take the course as person A, get a CPD certificate, change the name and person B gets a copy of the CPD certificate.

There are further steps that you might want to take as content creators to prevent your content from being misused:
1. We recommend you watermark all your content - so it is identifiable as being accessed from your online ClickLMS learning platform.
2. We recommend you add clear statements to your own Terms & Conditions with your users that you reserve the right to withhold access to any content and pursue any copyright infringement should fraudulent activity be detected - you may want to go further and include the disclaimer in each module, or at the beginning of each video.
