Adding and deleting learning resources
When you delete learning resources or add learning resources to a course that already has Learners enrolled to it, they will see these changes immediately. We do recommend that you remove the course from sale and publish a new course containing the revisions. However the article below outlines the impact if you do make changes to the existing course. We would recommend adding the new learning resource BEFORE deleting the old learning resource
Deleting a Learning Resource
- If the Learner has not completed the course: If the learner has started or completed the resource, they will retain any CPD/learning time earned for that resource BUT they will no longer see the resource in the course. The percentage completion will update to reflect the new number of learning items in the module and course. If applicable, the MCQ/Questionnaire will unlock if all resources are complete in the module following the deletion of the resource.
Important: If the resource deleted is the last learning item in the module, the module will be automatically marked as complete. And if this is the last module in the course (and self-reflection if applicable is complete) the course will complete and the certificate will be issued. Therefore if you plan to delete a resource and add a new one we recommend adding the new resource BEFORE you delete the old one.
- If the Learner has completed the course: If the learner has completed the course, CPD/learning time earned for the deleted resource will not be affected.
Adding a Learning Resource
- If the Learner has not completed the course: Learners will see the new resource immediately. The percentage completion will update to reflect the new number of learning items in the module and course.
- If the Learner has completed the course: If the learner has completed the course, the course will remain in their completed courses folder but the % completion figure will update to reflect the new number of learning items in the module and course (e.g. if there are now four instead of three items, the new item will be incomplete so instead of course progress being 100% it will show as 75%. The learner can always access the completed course from their completed course folder and then regenerate their certificate if they earn additional CPD/Learning time.
