How to test your microphone and audio system

This article walks you through the steps you can take to test your set-up, in particular that your microphone and audio system are working correctly prior to hosting your lesson.

Testing your microphone & audio connection

To test that your microphone and audio is working correctly please go to:

https://bigbluebutton.clicklms.com

This is a private browser for all ClickLMS customers so other users may also be logged into this test browser and will be able to hear you if you are testing your microphone.

This link will allow you to not only test the audio and microphone of your computer but also familiarise yourself with the webinar features offered by our platform.

We recommend you use this link to test sound quality prior to your event. The presenter can test their microphone while a colleague can join with audio only to test the sound quality.

Step 1

Navigate to https://bigbluebutton.clicklms.com

As a reminder, please use Google Chrome Web Browser and ensure you have the minimum required internet download and upload speeds.

Step 2

Please enter your name and click ‘Join’

Step 3

Choose to test with microphone if you are the presenter.

Alternatively, you can join as ‘listen only' if you simply want to check your audio works correctly or familiarise yourself with the features.

Please note that you may need to allow access to your microphone your browser will prompt you if this is the case. The ‘Allow’ button may appear in different places depending on your browser. This is an example when using Chrome from a windows lap top computer:

Step 4

Please complete the echo test after which you will be logged in to the webinar test platform.
