What is the Standard Membership Product?

By default, you will see the ‘Standard Membership’ product in the products table when you navigate to the Membership Products page the first time.

It has been created as a free membership (no registration fee) with no expiry date as a starting point so you can quickly and easily register learners to your new platform. 

With the default platform configuration:

• You only have one membership option available to Learners
• Learners register for your platform for free 
• Learners retain unlimited access to your platform (until you manually disable them)
• Learners see the same catalogue of courses

Editing the Standard Membership Product

Editing the Standard Membership Product BEFORE any Learners have registered to the membership product

As long as the Membership Product feature has been enabled, and no learners have registered to your platform you have full control to edit the Standard Membership Product.

You can edit:

• The name
• The description
• The welcome email
• The membership price and payment terms
• The membership duration (expiry)
• The course/content rules for the membership product
• The registration and renewal rules for the membership product
• The Course Catalogue Visibility rules for the membership product 

Editing the Standard Membership Product AFTER Learners have registered to the membership product

If a Learner registers to your platform on the Standard Membership Product, you will have limited editing rights. However you will be able to disable the membership product if you no longer want it to be available for Learners to register to.

In the Membership Product table you will see a count of the number of Active Users, if this is 1 or more then you will have limited editing rights.

You can still edit:

• The name
• The description
• The welcome email
• The course/content rules for the membership product
• The registration and renewal rules for the membership product
• The Course Catalogue Visibility rules for the membership product 

But you won't be able to edit:

• The membership payment terms
• The membership duration (expiry)

Disabling & Deleting the Standard Membership Product

You can disable the Standard Membership Product at any time which will remove it from sale.

Simply toggle the Standard Membership Product 'Sales Status' off from the Membership Products table.  

You can also delete the Standard Membership Product as long as the product has no Active Learners (Active Learners = 0).

Important: If you delete the Standard Membership Product and you have not published an alternative Membership Product there will be no way for Learners to register to your platform.
