Duplicate a Course
This feature is useful if you want to copy an existing course so that your Learners can re-take the same course each year. It saves you having to re-build the course manually.
This article explains how to duplicate a course and exactly what is copied across in this process.
How to duplicate a course
- Click the menu icon (three vertical dots) on the course card or course list and select 'Duplicate'.
Course Card View:
Course List View:
- Enter a new 'Course Name' and click 'Confirm'
Note: You cannot have two courses with the same name on the platform - each course must have a unique name. When duplicated therefore the new course name will include a (1) at the end of the course name. You can edit this - for example you may want to use the month/date to reflect the latest version.
- You will be returned to the 'All Courses' page and the course will start to duplicate in the background.
- A course card will appear for your new course and status will show as 'Pending'.
- Once the duplication process is complete the status will change to 'Draft' and you will see a green confirmation message top right of your screen.
- You will also receive an email once the duplication process is complete.
Note: The CPD/Learning time available for the duplicated course may be different to the original course because live face to face events and webinars are NOT copied across. You will need to add these in manually, then the CPD/Learning Time will update accordingly.
- You will now be able to edit and publish the course as normal.
Everything from the original course will be duplicated EXCEPT for the following which you will need to add/update as applicable:
- Live webinar or Face to face Lessons within modules (these need to be added manually because the dates will likely be different and they need to be correctly scheduled in the platform)
- Course ‘Settings’ rules (e.g. ‘Publish’ date and ‘Module Drip Feed’ rules) all need to be set manually.
Everything else will be automatically copied across (e.g. course imagery, descriptions, tags, certificate text and all pricing and access rules).
