Can I set an expiry date for a Learner's access to a course?

Whilst the Learner has an active membership to your site, they will retain access to all enrolled courses.

You can however:

1. Manually disable a Learner's access to a course

2. Set an automatic expiry date for the membership

1. Manually disable a Learner's access to a course

Currently there is no way to set an automatic expiry date for a specific course. E.g. automatically unenrol a learner from a specific course after 3 months.

However you can manually remove a Learner's access to a course:

Step 1: Navigate to the 'Learners' page and click the name of the Learner.

Step 2: On the Learner Profile page scroll down to the Courses List and use the toggle in the 'Access Enabled' column to disable the Learner's access to the course (click the toggle so that it changes from green to red). The Learner will no longer see it in their 'Current Courses' list.

2. Using Membership Products to limit how long a Learner can access your courses for

If you have the Membership Products feature enabled then you can create a membership that expires after a set number of days, months or years from the day a Learner registers.

Learners who register to the membership will retain access to the platform and all courses made available to that membership until the expiry date.

For example if a Learner registers to a 3 month membership on 1 January 2023:

  • They will retain access to the platform until 31 March 2023
  • They will retain access to the Catalogue and all courses they are enrolled to until the 31 March 2023
  • To retain access to the platform and courses beyond the 31 March 2023 the Learner will need to renew their membership
