How to charge different prices for the same course
If you have the Membership Products feature enabled you may want to set different prices or access rules to courses depending on the membership the learner is registered to.
Below we explain how you can do this.
What course payment and access options are available to choose from
From the 'Course Payment' page there are four payment/access options available to choose from:
1. Auto-enrol: Learners will be automatically enrolled to the course upon registering to the membership. The course appears in their 'Current Courses' list immediately.
2. Free: Learners will see the course in the Catalogue and can enrol for free.
3. Paid: Learners will need to buy the course from the Catalogue. This option is only available if a Stripe account has been connected and activated. You can read more about how to connect your Stripe account.
4. Exclude: Learners registered to the membership will not see the course in the Catalogue or be able to enrol to the course.
How to tailor the course payment/access rule for a specific membership - from the course payment page
1. Go to ' Courses' and select the course you want to set the payment rule for.
2. Click on ' Payments' in the sub menu.
3. You'll see a ' Default rule' section and a 'Tailored Access and Pricing Rule' section:
- The default rule will apply to all Learners across all Memberships - unless a tailored rule is specified below it. Set the desired rule and click 'Save'.
For example if the rule is set to free and there are no tailored rules, Learners on all memberships will be able to enrol to the course for free from the Catalogue.
- The tailored membership product rule allows you to add a specific rule for one or more of your memberships. Simply add the membership product to the table, set the rule and click 'Save'.
For example you could exclude the course from your free membership but auto-enrol Learners on your most expensive membership to the course. All other memberships will adhere to the default rule.
How to tailor the course payment/access rule for a specific membership - from the Membership Product page
From the create/edit Membership Product page you can set rules about which courses Learners should be automatically enrolled to upon registration, and which courses should not be available to access.
- Navigate to Settings -> Membership Products
- Then click on the Membership Product you want to edit and click on 'Content' in the sub menu
- Add courses to the 'Pre-Enrol Learners' field that you want Learners to be automatically enrolled to when they register to the membership
- Add courses to the 'Excluded Content' field that you don't want learners to see or have access to in the Catalogue
- Make sure you 'Save' your changes
